JUST-ENGAGED SINGER FINDS HER SOULMATE

From Canada.com:

'Single' singer now living American Dream

You may be familiar with Natasha Bedingfield's monster track "Unwritten," which, aside from being the "most played song on mainstream U.S. radio" in 2006, was also the anchor of "The Hills" soundtrack and heard in commercials for Pantene. "Release your inhibition / Feel the rain on your skin."

But Bedingfield's first hit single was, in fact, "Single," a catchy radio banger about a fierce, young woman comfortable being on her own that launched her straightaway into the British music elite. "I'm single right now / that's how I want to be."

My, how times have changed. Aside from being on an arena tour with New Kids on the Block, warming up the crowd along with New York's Lady GaGa, the biggest news for this sunshiny Londoner is that she just got engaged. Bye-bye, single girl -- and possibly a few fans with crushes.

"They can still have their fantasies," Bedingfield says, laughing.

Oh, and there's also the fact that Bedingfield's newest single -- the latest off current album Pocketful of Sunshine -- is due to drop in a couple of weeks and is fittingly entitled "Soulmate." Bedingfield is excited because "it's the best thing I've ever written."

If her career was "unwritten" just a few years ago, the last couple of chapters Bedingfield has added have included some real plot twists.

"It was interesting because I went from having a No. 1 album and playing huge crowds in England to coming to America as a complete unknown and it was humbling. It really was," she says. "You can't just come to America, set foot on the land and go, 'Don't you know who I am?'"

Before making her mark on this side of the pond, Bedingfield toured the States relentlessly, trying to up her profile, sometimes playing to just a handful of people at a time, but her chase of the American Dream paid off. It landed her a Yank boyfriend, now fiancé, as well as an encounter on a radio show with those Kids from Boston that would lead this tour.

"Joey's the first one I met. He's still really cute," says Bedingfield. "Donnie's kind. Jonathan's very enthusiastic. Jordan has got a very hot body, like a Ken doll. Then you have Danny, who does all the great dancing."

Look for her next chapter soon.

SHE CALLS ROMANCE 'FEMALE VIAGRA'

From People:

When it comes to love, Natasha Bedingfield says skip the little blue pills: Romance is even better than a pocketful of sunshine.

"Romance is female Viagra!" Bedingfield beams to People, referring to her relationship with fiancé Matt Robinson, who proposed on Sept 7.

The British pop singer, 26, who is the face of Cosmopolitan magazine's "StarLaunch: The Search for the Next Female Rock Star," says the couple revels in romance, from love letters to flowers to chocolate. "In reality, relationships have ups and downs. If someone is worth enough to you, then you both fight to stay true through the tough times. Advice to guys: Keep the romance alive. Simple things like giving flowers or remembering special dates may sound cheesy but they do work."

It doesn't hurt that Bedingfield is absolutely gaga over her future husband's good looks: "My fiancé Matt is hotter to me than David Beckham! He is honest, funny, charming, and hot."

On December 5, the three remaining contestants of "StarLaunch" will open for Bedingfield during a December 5 show in New York City. The winner will receive $10,000 and the opportunity to record a three-track demo with a big music producer.

PLANNING UK COMEBACK

From The Daily Star:

Natasha Bedingfield insists she hasn't turned her back on the UK and defended her decision to release a different album on both sides of the pond.

"Pocketful of Sunshine" was a hit in America and saw the 26-year-old spend much of 2008 in the US.

She said, "I guess different songs did better in different places. 'These Words' was huge in the UK, while it wasn't in the States. 'Pocketful' was for the States, so I won't bring it out at home. But I can't wait to work on my new album and introduce it to the UK."
